Artist Bio
Taylor Molt (she/her) is an actor, singer, voice teacher, writer and scenic/props artist who currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with her cat, Elphie. She grew up in Kansas and went to Washburn University in Topeka, KS where she earned a BA in Musical Theatre with a minor in Music. She graduated summa cum laude in 2021. She moved to Philadelphia to receive her Masters of Arts in Theatre at Villanova University where she was a Props and Scenic Artist Graduate Assistant as well as being a recipient of the Brian G. Morgan ’67 ’70 and Mary Anne Carlson ’70 Morgan Endowed Scholarship and the Brian Morgan Award. Taylor currently holds the position of Assistant Program Director of the Department of Visual, Media, and Performing Arts at Rutgers University-Camden. She also is an acting, musical theatre and audition prep teaching artist. She has taught at Wolf Performing Arts Center, Burlington County Footlighters, and MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company. She is currently a resident member of Without a Cue Productions, a Philadelphia area based murder mystery company and works as a lounge singing Vampire during spooky season with Halloween Nights at Eastern State Penitentiary.
Some of Taylor's favorite credits on stage include: Dot/Marie (Sunday in the Park with George), Celia (House of Desires), Bradley (Men on Boats), Simon (Jesus Christ Superstar), Helena Rubenstein (War Paint), Georgia (Curtains), Cathy Hyatt (The Last Five Years) and Flora (No Way to Treat a Lady) to name a few. Other credits include: Seth's Cabaret Showcase soloist at Don't Tell Mama (November 2023), interning with KC Friends of Alvin Ailey, soloist at the 2021 Top City Leading Ladies Cabaret, participating as a finalist in the 2021 region five Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Musical Theatre Masterclass and receiving 5th place Lower College Musical Theatre Vocalist at West Central NATS in 2019.
Outside of acting, Taylor has taken interest in Scenic and Props design and artistry, and has found a lot of joy from comedic theatrical writing and wrote her first full length play Toxic Femininity in 2022. After Toxic Femininity she has written various other short plays and solo performances.
When she's not making theatre you can find her reading smutty fantasy novels, attempting to earn her cat's affection and you guessed it, listening to Taylor Swift.
